Christmas Software Testing Fun with eTestware
Christmas is almost here and we’ve decided to have some festive fun. We are taking a classic song and rewording it to make it more… software tester-friendly. Why? Because it is festive and fun. Join us in having some Christmas software testing fun. See if you can guess what the original song is and then let us know your answers!
I don’t want to test this Christmas
Testing’s not the thing I need
I don’t care about the issues, Quality Assurance ain’t for me
I just want some time alone
More Q than QA, no no
Make my dream come true
All I want for Christmas is Q
Yeah
I don’t want QA for Christmas
There is just one thing I need (and I)
Don’t care about developers getting angry with me
I don’t need to show the errors there inside the software case
eTestware won’t make me happy with a job on Christmas Day
I just want to be alone
More Q than QA, no no
Make my dream come true
All I want for Christmas is Q
Q, no QA
Oh, I won’t ask to debug this Christmas
I won’t even wish for scope (and I)
I’m just gonna keep relaxing, test environments can go
I won’t make a plan and send it to the office for Bertie*
I won’t even stay awake to hear his magic guitar pick
‘Cause I just want no tests tonight
Holding alcohol so tight
What more can I do?
Oh, baby, all I want for Christmas is Q
Q, no QA
Oh-oh, all the software’s working so efficiently everywhere (so efficient, baby)
And the sound of MD’s laughter fills the air (oh, oh, yeah)
And every app is stinging (oh, yeah)
eTestware’s tills are ringing
Bertie, won’t you give me the day off I really need? (Yeah, oh)
Won’t you please bring some solace to me?
Oh, I don’t want a lot for Christmas
This is all I’m asking for
I just wanna avoid testing, I want for nothing more
Oh, I just want some time alone
More Q than QA, no no
Make my dream come true
Oh, baby, all I want for Christmas is Q
Q, no QA
And so on, fade to black, etc.
So, how much Christmas software testing fun was that for you?! Did you guess which song we paid homage to? It’s a tough one, take your time and maybe re-read the new (and improved) lyrics once more. We’re hoping that the testers amongst you will recognise that this is very much a tongue-in-cheek piece. Software testing can be incredibly demanding and sometimes disheartening. But ultimately, it is extremely rewarding – a bit like the festive season itself!
