Important Women in Software Testing
Next month (March), we will celebrate Women’s History Month. Then, on March 8th, we will also observe International Women’s Day. We’re delighted to say that eTestware is blessed to have some hugely talented female software testers on board. In light of that and these upcoming occasions, here we look at some of the most important women in software testing.
A Small Selection of Testers to Watch Out For
Beth Marshall is a senior quality engineer with many years of experience within the software testing industry. An instructor at the Test Automation University and a tutor at Coders Guild, Beth has created some very interesting content on social media. Indeed, the Beth Marshall YouTube channel is well worth a look, featuring the popular ‘Postman Flows’ series.
Angie Jones is renowned and well respected around the world, and the Angie Jones YouTube channel is an interesting one. An international keynote speaker and a Java champion, Angie is fully committed to championing young women in technology. Her Diva Chix online community teaches teenage girls and women how to succeed in tech fields and how to operate a business.
Elisabeth Hendrickson has over 20 years’ worth of experience in the software industry. According to Google Books, Elisabeth “wrote her first line of code in 1980, and almost immediately found her first bug.” Having moved into Quality Assurance in 1993, she is quite well known for her Google Tech Talk on Agile Testing as well as her book, ‘Explore It: Reduce Risk and Increase Confidence with Exploratory Testing’.
Women’s History Month 2024
37 years ago, in 1987, the US dedicated March as a month to celebrate women’s achievements and contributions. Do you plan to do anything to mark this very special occasion? If you do, then we would love to hear from you. For our part, this look at some important women in software testing is a small yet important gesture. Our own software testing women are definitely worthy of celebration, and hopefully you will also be inspired to celebrate the ones you know.
