Innovation at STC global 2022 from theICEway
The latest edition of the cruise industry’s premier event took place in Miami last month. A team from theICEway attended and were heavily involved in the IT content at the show, including a brand new feature: The Interactive Tech Zone from theICEway. Designed alongside Seatrade Global, this area of the show floor represented real innovation at STC global.
STC Global 2022
As part of theICEway ecosystem, team members from eTestware, ICE and CRIBB Cyber Security were delighted to attend. Stationed at booth #3600, they welcomed fellow attendees by the dozen. The booth was positioned next to the Interactive Tech Zone, which was actually managed by theICEway.
This amazing feature allowed attendees an area in which to engage with cutting-edge technology. VR headsets, Facial recognition and more were on show. There was also a Rapid APP prototyping workshop running throughout the 4-day event.
The tech zone
The Interactive Tech Zone proved to be a huge success. Led by theICEway’s David Tibbles, it certainly had people talking. Mr Tibbles was particularly happy that those heading to the zone did so out of a genuine love of technology: “I felt that everybody that came into the zone did so through a thirst for innovative tech.”
Partners who contributed towards the success of the zone included the likes of Kilo, Sourcetoad and Lufthansa Industry Solutions. We’d like to thank them very much indeed for their efforts. The fantastic Tech Zone staff also deserve a mention!

Our ecosystem began life back in 2007 as ICE Support Ltd. Our owners founded it as a UK MSP and technology consultancy. Since then, ICE has gone on to become a global enterprise. eTestware was added in 2014 and then CRIBB joined in 2016, thus enabling theICEway to flourish and offer complete digital solutions. We have worked in many industries and have developed a specialism in cruise in particular.
Our cruise IT offering is expansive and includes dry dock support and a time zone management solution called ‘tzChromar’. Innovation is one of our core values and driving innovation at STC global was a key objective for our involvement.
