The testers at eTestware hail from all corners of the globe. They are an experienced team who share a genuine passion for quality assurance. They recognise the value of collaboration and are always seeking to learn. As well as doing this ‘on the job’, they also like to keep abreast of what is going on in the software testing world. The most famous software testers have much knowledge to impart, and we’re very happy to listen. Today we look at some of these influential figures.
Cem Kaner
Cem Kaner is one of the founder members of the Association of Software Testing. A former programmer and test manager, he is also a doctor in psychology and possesses degrees in psychology and law. He is undoubtedly one of the most prominent figures in the software testing industry. He specialises in context-driven approaches to testing and software metrics.

James Marcus Bach
Software tester, author and trainer James Marcus Bach dropped out of high school. He then worked as a software testing manager for Apple and Borland. For Spinnaker Software, he also programmed Apple II and Commodore 64 ports of various titles. In 1999 he became an independent consultant and actually testified as a witness in the United States v. Microsoft Corp. antitrust case. Bach testified that Microsoft could unbundle Internet Explorer from Windows.
Bach is a proponent of exploratory testing and the context-driven school of software testing. His views are based on ethical code and finding understanding in the context of every scenario faced by testers. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Software Testing and is also credited with developing session-based testing.

Lisa Crispin
Lisa Crispin is an Agile Testing Practitioner, coach and leader. She has 25 years of experience in the testing industry. Her peers recognise her as being the most influential agile testing professional. As an advocate for exploring testing practices, she regularly hosts video conferences on the modern trends of agile testing.
