Why software testing is important
The question most frequently answered by the test experts at eTestware relates to the title of this article. Unfortunately, whilst they and their fellow testers fully appreciate how significant it is, so many others do not. So, let’s see why software testing is important…
A world without software testing
Imagine the scene; it is morning, at the crossroads of 2 major motorways. Wrecked cars are everywhere and traffic lights and signals are blinking randomly. People all around are scratching their heads, wondering a) how they were unhurt, and b) what happened. One man is shaken because his airbag failed to deploy but thankful for his fortunate escape. Another is muttering about how the road signals were the cause of this. Apparently they did not work properly, causing mass confusion. One lady blames her satnav for taking her in the wrong direction completely. A helicopter circles above but communication with those below is impossible because the loudspeaker unit is faulty.
A world with software testing
Now imagine the scene a little differently. In fact, there is no need to imagine it because many of you will have seen this new scene regularly. It is morning and the aforementioned crossroads is busy, vehicles whizzing by and stopping when required to by the fully-tested and functioning signals in place. Everyone is carrying on as normal, safe in the knowledge that their judgement will be backed up by the products and technology around them.
Key benefits
We decided to take a light-hearted approach with this week’s blog but testing is a subject very close to our hearts. For us, it is critical and should never be seen as a ‘nice thing to have’. On the contrary, it is a ‘must have’ for any organisation, no matter what product they are producing. The benefits are numerous, including:
- A guaranteed increase in customer satisfaction
- This will be directly engendered via an improved users experience…
- Which will inspire confidence and then enable your organisation to generate more sales and revenue
We specialise in software testing, and for a fuller list of its benefits you can read this eTestware blog piece from June 2021.
Conclusion
Software testing is important for so many reasons. It is our hope that more organisations will come to realise this. Our experts are always happy to offer advice, so do let us know about your testing requirements below.
